VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

The Street Team

The goal of the Street Team as a whole will be to foster awareness of our programs in the community and get the word out on the street. There is no commitment past one afternoon of your time, no prerequisites, no age, or experience requirement, which means anyone can do it! Sign up with your friends or as an individual.

Members of the Street Team join an e-mail/contact list. Each time a new program comes out, the Street Team will be notified. If you are available for a couple hours or an afternoon, you reply to the volunteer coordinator. Next, you pick up materials to distribute to the community.

The Street Team is one of the most important sectors of our organization because they form the link between CAE and the populations who need our valuable programs!

Hours: Varies according to your availability
Commitment: No commitment necessary – join for one afternoon or a year, depends on you!
Skills/Experience required: Enthusiasm for CAE!

Street Team: Team Captain

The Street Team (and the rest of our staff) needs promotional materials to keep them going! As a non-profit organization with minimal advertising budget, the main way we inform the community about our programs is through the distribution of flyers and brochures. As the Street Team Pit Crew, you will be responsible for making copies of flyers and brochures to be distributed. This is a great way to have a big impact with a small commitment, especially if you prefer not to be outdoors with the rest of the Street Team. Sign up as an individual or with a friend!

Hours: 2-3 hours per month
Commitment: 4 months minimum
Skills/Experience required:

• Ability to follow instructions
• Experience with a copy machine is a plus
• Ability to work with other office members, and be friendly and respectful

Student Liaison

The Student Liaison contacts potential self-defense students (anyone who has requested materials from CAE) the week before a new Self-Defense Course begins to ensure that they have received the proper course packet and they understand what to expect in class. The Liaison will also provide the Self-Defense instructor with an accurate account of how many students to expect. This job can be completed from home or from our office. This small time commitment is a BIG help to us as well as CAE students.

Hours: 4-5 hours per self-defense cycle (5 times per year)
Commitment: 1 year
Skills/Experience required:

• Pleasant on the phone
• Clear speaking voice
• Experience making phone calls is a plus
• An ability to be outgoing, friendly and represent the organization to many different types of people

Connection Squad

The goal of the Connection Squad is to contact all the organizations that requested information about our programs, and make sure they received the information they requested. This is a big job since we contact over 200 organizations, so we really want your help! (But don't worry, you work on a team, so it's not all up to you!)
Our connection with other organizations is vital to making sure the program information gets to people who need our help. 

Hours: 4-5 hours per class cycle (5 times per year)
Commitment: 1 year

• An ability to be outgoing, friendly and represent the organization to many different types of people
