Tai Chi Chuan

For Teens
For Children (6-13)

Tai Chi Chuan is practiced for relaxation, centering, and increasing internal power. Adults of all ages and levels of fitness can benefit from this calming, meditative martial art. Through practice of the tai chi form, students develop internal energy while strengthening muscles and joints. Many find tai chi helpful for healing and connecting body and spirit. Tai chi emphasizes complete relaxation, and is essentially a form of meditation, or what has been called "meditation in motion."

The Yang style is the most common traditional style of Tai Chi Chuan practiced today; the Yang style emphasizes the health benefits of tai chi and makes the art accessible to the general population. It has a comfortable balance between external range of motion and internal movements both physically and energetically. It is especially good for developing relaxed strength and balance. The Yang style has three different forms that are practiced: the simplified form, the short form, and the long form. CAE teaches the Yang Short Form of Tai chi.

CAE offers this course on a sliding scale (based on income). The course can be anywhere from $10/month to $75/month at the highest. To determine your particular fee you can call our office between 10 AM and 6 PM. (718) 788-1775.
